Ofsted inspected Eckington School and Sixth Form in March 2026. Their report was published on 10 June 2026.
Ofsted’s latest inspection in March 2026 under the new framework validates the progress the school has made, meeting safeguarding standards and reaching the expected standard in five out of seven inspection areas.
The latest report highlights the scale of the school’s transformation:
- “Pupils say the school has improved significantly and that they now feel safe throughout the day.”
- “Across the school, pupils feel that they belong.”
- “Leaders have created an inclusive culture where pupils feel understood and supported.”
- “Pupils behave positively across the school.”
- “Around the site, pupils treat one another with consideration.”
- “In lessons, pupils behave responsibly […], listen carefully and show positive attitudes to learning.”
- “Careers education is a strength of the school”
- “Leaders maintain clear oversight of vulnerable pupils, […] these pupils attend regularly, feel secure and play a full part in school life.”
- “Staff, pupils, parents and carers recognise the positive changes made in recent years.”
It also notes the positive experiences of the students in the school’s Sixth Form, recognising the strong academic outcomes, the calm and purposeful learning environment, and the strong careers guidance and support students receive as they prepare for university, apprenticeships and employment.
