Overview
Creative Digital Media Production
Introduction
This course is for students who are creative, imaginative and have an interest in filmmaking. You will learn to plan and create audio-visual material in line with film industry practices. We will cover the essentials of lighting, planning, filming and editing, and you will work both in teams and individually on a variety of projects.
Qualification
BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Digital Film and Video Production (single award)
or
BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Film and Television Production (double award)

Skills and requirements
Subject entry requirements
- 5 GCSEs Grade 4 and above, including English and maths
Sixth Form entry requirements
- 4 A-levels over 2 years: for students who have achieved 5 or more grade 7s or above including English and maths (grade 5 or above).
- 3 A-levels over 2 years: for students who have achieved 5 grade 5s or above including English and maths.
- Level 3 vocational courses: for students who have achieved 5 grade 4s or above including English and maths.
Beyond the classroom
Future pathways
This course provides good preparation if you are considering an apprenticeship in the creative and design route. When taken alongside further level 3 qualifications, it also supports access to a range of higher education courses in film and video production, and the wider media industry.
The course could lead to jobs within the film/gaming and animation industry which is the fastest growing sector in British industry at the moment.
