Eckington Sixth Form celebrates best results since joining Chorus Education Trust

Eckington’s Sixth Form students today (13 August 2026) celebrated their best results since the Sixth Form joined Chorus Education Trust in April 2023.
Across all Level 3 courses (A levels, BTECs and others):
- 74.7% achieved A* to C (4.6% higher than 2025’s results, and 7.3% higher than in 2023)
- 47.8% achieved A* to B (12.8% higher than 2025’s results, and 13.6% higher than in 2023)
- 20.2% achieved A* to A (Nearly three times higher than 2025’s results of 6.8%, and nearly double 2023’s results of 10.4%)
Across just A levels, an incredible 76.9% of the Class of 2026 achieved A* to C, with 52.3% achieving A* to B (an increase of 11.8% over 2025’s results) and a massive 21.5% achieving A* to A (about double last year’s results of 10.7%).
Great success was seen in A level Art where every student achieved or exceeded their target grades and in Biology, Business, English Literature, Geography, Mathematics, and Photography where students achieved an average grade of B or higher. Eckington Sixth Formers also performed exceptionally in the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) where all students achieved either an A* or an A.
The Class of 2026 will now go on to study a wide range of courses including Law, Chemistry, Animation, Physical Education and School Sport, Criminology, Architecture, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Film and TV Production, Physics, and Speech and Language Therapy. They will be studying at universities across the country including Sheffield, York, Leeds, Nottingham, Manchester, Loughborough, Salford, Lincoln, Essex, and London.
